In Microsoft Windows 7, if you go to properties -> System -> You can See:
Windows Activation

Windows is Active
Product ID: 63847-6252-123478-83025 “Example”

I need to collect all those Product ID’s in my organization

Please advise if any one can help to collect this information using a script.

BSOD in windows 7

by admin on February 20, 2011 · 1 comment

in windows

i installed Windows 7 Ultimate, 64 bit on my HTPC.

It has runned stable, but in the last 14 days its getting very unstable.
Suddently i will get a BSOD, and the computer restarts.
When the system is starting / booting up again, it sometimes freezes during the ‘start up’ logo. – And i have to hit the reset button. Then it boots up, and works again.

The strange thing is that the system has runned well.

My specs :
Intel Quadcore 6600 – G0
Asus P5K Premium
4 GB Adata ram
1 WD raptor disk (10.000 RPM)
2 WD Greenline disks (1 tb)
Hauppauge TV Tuner card (Dual interface)

I have imported the XML file from the log, into a txt doc – can you use it ? Or should i upload the minidump file? ‘C:\Windows\Minidump\110909-24148-01.dmp’

If I am using Outlook 2007 with it and unlike in XP you can right click on the outlook icon and choose runas and choose a domain account. In windows 7 I have to drill down to the program files and find the outlook exe to do this. Is there a registry edit that I can do or something simple to allow users Oulook to always login in under another account? Seems just entering it off network does not work you have to actually choose runas for all outlook functions to work properly.

Ans:

There are several ways to do this in Windows 7.
1. Put the Outlook shortcut on your Desktop. Right click -> Run As
2. Pin the Outlook shortcut to the Start Button. Start -> Right click -> Run As
3. Pin the Outlook shortcut to the Taskbar (I don’t like this quite as much but it works).

You don’t have to drill down to find Outlook and there is lots of flexibility here. It is just different.

IF I install a new 1.5 TB drive and set it up for windows 7, then can I buy a second drive and raid it afterwards. My old system had two raided drives. Do I have to change the rad settings to use the first drive if I am getting a second drive in a few weeks anyway or can I leave the raid settings as they were?
