Microsoft Wireless Laser Desktop 6000

November 17th, 2008 by admin | No Comments | Filed in PC hardware, Uncategorized

The Microsoft wireless Laser Desktop 6000 tries to make computing comfort able with its ergonomic design, and also compli ments your need for style with its neat looks and great design.
The Laser Desktop 6000 comprises of a keyboard that is based on Microsoft’s Comfort Curve Design; keys have been placed in an ergonomically approved cur vaceous design to give your fingers the perfect position and comfort for long hours of work. The keyboard is Windows Vista Aero inspired, and that is why Microsoft has incorporated few dedicated Vista Aero shortcut keys. The keyboard has a semi transparent border, much like the Aero windows in Vista.
Apart from the basic keys, the keyboard features loads of shortcut keys, with one-touch access to Windows Flip, Zoom, Mail Client and even 5 programmable keys that you can set according to your preference.
The included wireless mouse uses laser technology, which gives it a more precise control as compared to an optical mouse. The tilt wheel allows it to scroll both hori zontally as well as vertically. If you are looking forward to a gaming solution, then this will not disappoint you with its responsive mouse, but you might find the keys to lack tactile feedback.
The Microsoft Wireless Laser Desktop 6000 operates at 2.4 GHz wireless radio fre quency, allowing it to con nect and operate smoothly without any interference from other electronic wire less devices connected to your computer.
We found the combo to perform well even over large distances. Microsoft claims the operable limit of the hardware is 40 Feet, and is good enough to give you the freedom to connect it to your HTPC. It worked flaw lessly for us at a distance of about 15 feet. Both devices operate on 2 AA batteries each, and Microsoft claims they will last for 4 months.
Specifications
2.4 Ghz wireless technology, Ergonomic design, Preset and customisable shortcut keys for the keyboard.

Torrents sharing using LimeWire Basic

March 17th, 2008 by admin | No Comments | Filed in Uncategorized

Torrents have become the buzzword in the file sharing arena, although P2P clients have not lost ground yet. The advantage of a P2P client is that you can connect to a specific computer through its lPAddress. One of the most popular P2P clients is LimeWire.
Limewire basic is the free version of this application, so while using it you might find an annoying window advising you to upgrade to ‘LimWire Pro’, which is the shareware version. But for most needs, the freeware would do just fine.
You can use any of the search options provided according to the type of file you are looking for. These options include ‘All Types’, ‘Audio’, ‘Images’, ‘Video’, ‘Documents’, and ‘Programs. The ‘All Types’ option can be used if you need to find multiple file formats for the key word you have entered. For specific search, you can select any of the remaining five options. Once you select the specific find option, the menu under it changes accordingly for a precise search. For instance, if you select the ‘Documents’ option, the menu allows you to enter the ‘Title’, ‘Topic’, ‘Author’, ‘License Type’, and ‘License’ for the document. You can also get directly connected to the computer of a LmeWire user if you enter his/her IP address under the direct connection tab. Once this is done, you can browse through the LimeWire shared folder of the other computer. Once you enter the string for a particular search, a tabbed window displays the search. The first few results are usually more appropriate to choose as those files would be present in more host computers, resulting in faster downloads.
