Problem:

With time, CD/DVD rom’s /writer’s tray gets worn out and they stop opening smoothly. Sometimes it so happens that you need to urgently load/unload a CD/DVD and the tray simply refuses to come out. So what to do in that case? See the solution below.

Solution:

Most of the CD/DVD roms/writers have a pin hole on the front panel. So if the tray is not opening, simply use an all pin (or a safety pin). Press the eject button and insert the pin in the pin hole and gently push it. This makes the tray to come out.

Please Note: This is only a temporary solution to use in case of urgency. For a reliable service, get the CD/DVD rom repaired or replaced.

It may turn that geezer into the perfect Web-surfing speed demon for your least PC-literate family member.
2. Gave It away. Whether you hand it down to family or to a local charity, there’s got to be someone clamoring for your old, working PC. If you can’t find anyone, check www.freecycle.org for a mailing list of people in a city near you who love free stuff ?our junk is their gold.
3. Pick a dump spat. Find a PC Donation center in your area that will make sure PC toxins don’t and up in a landfill. Search Earth 911 (earth9ll.org) for places that will dispose of electronics responsibly.
No matter what, sanitize that hard drive before you pass it on. At the very least, format the drive and, reinstall the operating system before recycling the old PC.

But the icing on the cake is that this device does not compromise on performance in turn. To start with, MF4320D is a monochrome laser printer bundled with copying and scanning features. It is ‘Energy Star’ and ‘RoHS ‘compliant with single button (2-side) ‘press auto duplex’ feature that saves paper, adding to the eco-friendliness. To enhance efficiency, many innovative technologies have been used. These include UFRIILt (ultra fast rendering) printing system that integrates computers and MFD’s RAM for fast processing that speeds up printing, and on demand fixing tech- I nology for minimizing energy consumption. In the energy saver mode this device consumes less than 3W of power. MF4320D also scores a lot in convenience as it’s easy to install on a network and has a USB 2.0 interface with all the necessary buttons to make your work smooth. The device was able to print 22 pages per minute, the same as the speed it took for copying. The first page came out in less than 9s, almost equal to HPLaserJetM2 727nf. The quality of print was excellent for text as can be expected from laser printers while quality of scanned images was good.

Canon ImageCLASS MF4320D Specs: Energy star compliant, Network printing, 22 ppm

Western Digital plans to satiate your hunger for space with their new I Terabyte Caviar Black edition HDD.
This HDD is almost the same size of a 500GB HDD, despite the increased amount of memory platters. They managed to keep the height low by using perpen dicular recording. The WD caviar comprises of dual processors for twice the data processing speed as normal drives, coupled with a massive 32 MB of buffer
memory that ensures that you get the max immn perform ance. Along with Acoustic management this drive also features Power management that allows it to power itself down when the drive is not in use or reduce its speed to a lower RPM when lower levels of performance are required.
We tested the WD Caviar Black edition HDD for its per formance in real world sce narios using HD tach and SiSoft Sandra, and it did well, but not that much better. It gave us a random access time of 12.3 ms, while the average read and write speeds came to 81.1 and 92 MBps respectively, with CPU utilization at a maximum of 4 per cent. SiSoft Sandra gave it a Drive Index of 80 MBps, and listed the access time as 12 ms.
To sum up, the WD Caviar Black edition HDD does perform well in our benchmarks, but doesn’t really stand apart from the crowd. At Rs 11,700, it’s a decent buy for those who don’t mind spending extra for a marginal performance boost and some additional features.
